For more than 50 years, Earth, Wind & Fire has been synonymous with groovy disco beats and packed dance floors. As runner-up of the SBS6 television program ‘The Tribute, Battle of the Bands’ in season 2, The Chicago Funk page has proven that the magic of old soul, funk & disco is still alive. During their theater tour they also got everyone dancing to the music of Earth, Wind & Fire!

The original pop group Earth, Wind & Fire is known for the high notes of Phillip Bailey, the warm sound of Maurice White and the recognizable voice of Ralph Johnson. These distinctive voices had to remain and be honored. Those voices are found in the Dutch artists Nigel Brown, Clayton Peroti and Clifton End.

All hits such as ‘Boogie Wonderland’, ‘In the Stone’, ‘After the Love has Gone’ and of course world hit ‘September’ are featured. Expect various extravagant costume changes, the signature high singing notes and groovy and compelling beats. “When you close your eyes, Earth, Wind & Fire should be in front of you,” that is the premise of this 13-piece tribute band.

The Chicago Funk (Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute)® participated in the SBS6 TV program “The Tribute – Battle of the Bands” in 2023 and scored highly with the public. TV channels at home and abroad as well as casino resorts in Las Vegas have already shown their interest in this tribute version of the legendary original pop group from the 70s and 80s.

In December they reached 1st place in the television program Ranking The Talent, where they had to compete against various internationally known artists.

Who are the artists of The Chicago Funk?

Our band is more than just music. We are a composite group of passionate musicians, each with a unique background and a love for creating exciting and unforgettable musical experiences.

Lead Vocalist

David Goncalves

David’s passie voor soul en gospel startte al op 10-jarige leeftijd toen hij deelnam aan een gospelkoor. Toen kon hij nog niet weten dat hij later met grote (gospel) sterren zou gaan werken. Met name Edwin Hawkins, de uitvoerder componist, schrijver van het legendarische gospel nummer ‘Oh happy day’. In 2002 bracht hij het tot de finale in de eerste editie van ‘Idols’ en behaalde de 5e plaats van de laatste 10 finalisten. Hij scoorde een platencontract en schreef samen met Alain Clarke zijn debuutsingle ‘Running away’. In samenwerking met house-act Chocolate Puma bracht David in 2005 een grote hit ‘Always and Forever’, die wereldwijd hoog op de internationale hitparades prijkte. David werkte met grote namen als Bob Sinclair en Roger Sanchez. In 2013 nam David opnieuw deel aan een tv-talentenshow. In ‘The Voice’ behaalde hij de live shows met coach Roel van Velzen. Als zanger, danser en acteur speelde David een groot aantal rollen in grote theaterproducties als ‘Jeans’, ‘The Soul of Motown’, ‘Dreamgirls’, ‘Daddy Cool’, ‘My name is Michael’, ‘Soul Brothers, en ‘The Lion King’ (hoofdrol Mufasa t/m 2019).

Sietse Huisman

Sietse is een Drumset Artist / producer gevestigd in Nederland. Geboren in 1968 en met 30 jaar professionele ervaring is Sietse een bekende artiest in de scene. Hij heeft regelmatig en incidenteel samengewerkt met veel nationale en internationale artiesten en projecten zoals: Richard Smith, Allen Hinds, Twarres, Willeke Alberti, Rob de Nijs, 3 J’s, Nick en Simon, Boudewijn de Groot, Elske DeWall, Jan Akkerman, Clannad, Mike Stern, Selina Albright, Fox the Fox, Eugene Ruffolo en nog veel meer.

Clayton Peroti

De muzikale carrière van de uit Suriname afkomstige Clayton Peroti leidde hem naar de grote podia in binnen-en buitenland. Als leadzanger van onder meer de Kasimex House Band toerde hij door Suriname, Frans-Guyana en Nederland. Hij trad op tijdens Disco Mania en Motown Mania op Curaçao en was lid van het Rotterdamse gospeltrio G-Roots.

Clifton End

Afkomstig van Curacao, is geen onbekende. Als soloartiest heeft hij aan tal van tv zang wedstrijden meegedaan en is een artiest puresang. Met zijn extreem hoge zangnoten weet hij iedereen te raken. Daarnaast is Clifton een beroemdheid op de Nederlandse Antillen.

Percussionist

Dwight Muskita

Dwight Muskita is een percussionist van Nederlands–Molukse afkomst, die optreedt sinds 1985. Hij heeft door heel Europa en ver daarbuiten gespeeld waaronder China, Curaçao, Indonesië, Turkije, Verenigde Staten.
