Over Henk Guitjens

Henk Guitjens has been a saxophone player in the Dutch pop-scene for a long time, known for his impressive sound, influenced by players such as Michael Brecker and Kenny Garrett, but also 50’s rock’n roll and 80’s soul are typical specialties of his. Guitjens played with many soul bands and toured with ‘JazzBeatsNOW’ for several years. Since 2007, he is a member of the ‘BOSCO jazz and pop orchestra’, with which he played hundreds of shows featuring various well-known Dutch artists. Besides that, Henk organised around 80 performances between 2009 and 2018 with his own quartet, playing with just about every great musician from the Dutch jazz scene including Eric Vloeimans, Anton Goudsmit, Benjamin Herman, Tineke Postma, Michiel Borstlap, Shirma Rouse, Jan van Duikeren, Hans Dulfer, Ack van Rooijen, John Engels, Jesse van Ruller, Ilja Reijngoud and many, many others.
